Our beginning training seminar offers valuable information with regard to raising meat rabbits. We start with basics as finding a reputable breeder, supplies needed, feeding your rabbit, breeding rabbits, prebreeding considerations, care of newborns, rabbit health and condition of rabbits, common problems and concerns, how to sex a rabbit, dispatching methods, and record keeping. Small group dynamics offer lots of questions and answers helping everyone to learn from each other. Did I mention it’s also a lot of fun!
Hands on experience in our rabbitry gives you the opportunity to see for yourself how to sex your rabbits, breeding tips, hutch record cards, general health maintenance checks and tips to caring for them. You’ll see which nest boxes are best, which sizes of cages to use and a variety of other information regarding standard rabbit husbandry.
Raising rabbits for profit portion of our seminar focuses on understanding the laws in your area, your goals and your capabilities. We also look at the importance of watching the numbers, the bottom line and profitability. We explore a variety of outlets available for your rabbit products and how to market them. We also look at bookkeeping. There is a lot of question and answer time built into this session so bring your list!
